Growing celery from scraps
I'm more inclined to believe that the celery will actually grow from the bottom inch of a store bought celery. Not only is this sprouting a lovely top, but roots are growing. I started this one a week ago, at the same time as the carrots.
I have tried this too and am AMAZED at how quickly they sprout. Did you know you can do the same thing with leeks and scallions(green onions)? I have to try the carrots.
I have some green onions sprouting as well, I'll give it a go with leeks next time we buy some. I haven't had much luck getting long white sections on my home grown leeks (probably not dibbing them in deep enough), but I'll have another go with the sprouted variety. Thanks!
