Gardening whenever I can... even in pyjamas.
Gardening for sustainability,
to eat organic produce,
a love of the outdoors,
but mostly for my children.

That first frost caught me by surprise
We had a frost last night. I wasn't expecting it at all. Perhaps if I had been paying attention to weather reports I would have known. But as it was, I was totally unprepared.
All of the frost tender veg are looking a bit sad and I find myself longing for the weather to be a little warmer.
At least I enjoyed a lovely weekend in the garden to see out the last few warm days of the season.
My veg seem to have recovered well enough from the frost to still be productive for a few more weeks. I think it is almost time to pull out the last of the summer veg though and make room for some more winter crops and green manure plantings.
I hope it didn't permanently damage your veggies. The first frost is always a shock to us after enjoying so many warm days.
ReplyDeleteCanberra weather is crazy! xD
