I thought I'd lost my raspberry canes to dry weather over the summer, but thankfully a few canes survived. Now that we are getting fruit again, we are very pleased... and will take greater care to nurture the canes through the hot and dry summer next year!
Raspberries - I love them!
ReplyDeleteThe pleasure of eating them is almost equalled by the pleasure of picking your own from your own canes. I hope to be able to do that too one day!
Bye for now

They are your best fruit! I hope your survivors spread with all this care. I must say that I'm very jealous -our canes aren't showing much desire to come into leaf yet. Summer seems an eternity away!
ReplyDeleteI'm on my last bag of frozen raspberries from last year. Can't wait for the 2013 harvest. We do love our raspberries.
ReplyDeleteThis small bowl of berries didn't last long - a few in the littlies' lunch boxes and a few for us and we're once again waiting for more to collect! I planted 4 canes a few years ago and they spread like crazy, so even with losing most of them, I still have 7 or 8 canes fruiting at the moment. With a month or so before our first frost I'll be missing the freezer full of berries that we are used to having!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the coming into berry season in the northern hemisphere!
